“We received support from many places. The last one I'd like to talk about is one that truly helped us out and we feel very blessed. It is one most of you have never heard of. It is the Andrew and Abby Szott Foundation out of the Twin Cities. They grant money to enable one parent to stay home on a full-time basis to care for their sick child. When the social worker gave us the application, it was a very stressful time and we set it aside. She encouraged us to fill it out, so we did, early one morn while our brains had a little juice left. A board of directors reviews all applications and they decide to whom the grant of the "Gift of Time" money will go. A few days later, we received a letter saying we were granted this gift. I cried hard and long!! It was very overwhelming for us to know that there are such special people who take such good care of others. It truly was a gift from God, we believe.”
